Policy Statement
It is the policy of the BIN to update the databases when an event, such as a death takes place, usually within the week of the death. Sometimes it may be at the end of the month. The BIN will not post a death on the databases until the funeral has past. The BIN is a not-forprofit, non commercial web site. Our main mission is to promote genealogy research and the preservation of family history. Its the policy of the BIN NOT to contact living family members to obtain information about deceased family members or any other info for the databases.The BIN accepts no compensation from any outside source and has no advertising. Money spent for this site is from the curator only.
Policy on Death Notices
Obituaries from Newspapers are copyrighted. The BIN is not allowed to copy the notice however it can used the information from it to create a notice, unique from other publications. The BIN will post a death notice in our own format unless the family grants permission to use the original notice from the funeral home or the writer.
